She mentions a film, 'The Geometry of Sound' (Geometria Dzwieku). Now it's on my 'must see' list. As we know, Geometry is the core of the Islamic art and it is linked to sounds and colours, and from there it leads to chakras and mantras, and the flow of energy, and vibrations and the whole universe... Well, I cannot put it all in one sentence. Would you like to learn Polish or have the interview translated? Or shall we talk to Sylwia in English when we get a chance?:-)
I'm dreaming now... If the weather is nice we could meet Sylwia at Duke's Meadows, the venue suggested by Lu Pradere last year!!!:-)
El Bahia

There are many descriptions of El Bahia Palace online and I have nothing new to add to them.
Now I am back in London and want to share with you a link to the pictures of Ealing from 1902 which I encountered while finding out about some woods nearby which are only open once a year and it happens to be this coming Sunday!

Marrakesh mellah
Back to work, when will I find the time to write more about the fascinating Morroco trip???
On the way from El Badi Palace (see my yesterday post) we encountered one of the local people who 'just wanted to talk to us and show us the way, because he loves English and the English people and is not at all after money'. Surely, he had to drag us to a shop, but it was rather interesting. We saw many herbs, spices and medicaments and I got persuaded to get some headache remedy to rub in my temples. Worth trying! Our friend was hunging around when we were in the shop. I understand that our purchase in the shop was too small and he had to forget about the friendship and ask for monetary gratification which he did receive. It didn't mean we found ourselves in front of the working synagogue which he had initially promised to lead us to, but we were nearer to it. As soon as he got the money, the man vanished and after a bit of time we reached the destination, were admitted inside, talked briefly to a busy English lady in charge and had a brief encounter with an animal who never parts with his shell (except when the unlucky specimen goes into a soup, I presume...).

First palace El Badi
We looked at my Marroco pictures yesterday. There are loads of them, some good, some not that great, but they all are fantastic reminders of the little details that made the trip so great.
Then we found our way to the old palace which has lost most of its glory...
Caged birds are a frequent sight. Later on, in Fez, we found out about a bird souk.
The palace courtyard has a large pond in the middle:
From one of the palace towers it is possible to see the Atlas Mountains:
This Morrocan tea seller approached us when we were leaving the royal thumbs and most eagerly posed for pictures. I gave him a few coins, but didn't want his tea. He got very angry and wanted a small fortune from poor me, I think. What he was yelling, I'm glad I didn't understand, but I had no more coins having already given money to the weaver in his workshop and paid for the public convenience at a hammam (please don't ask me for details of the experience now...).

Marrakesh medina
So many fantastic memories from the trip. No time to write about it all. I'll let pictures speak. More of Marrakesh again - experiencing the medina in daylight:
