I can tell you! Go in a car, get surrounded by immense lorries, you won't see any signs and keep going ahead seeing the bridge towering in front, slightly to the left above the lorries. Next thing you know, you are entering the tunnel and 'diving' underneath the river bed... And the bridge with its sweeping views is well behind you!
Easily done!
And missing it was such a disappointment! I had walked near it on a number of occasions and then, this time, I thought, I was all prepared to be on it. I had worked out how to pay the fee online beforehand (£2.50 one way) and I was ready. But.obviously, not ready enough. It is hard to convey the disappointment of entering a tunnel when you had been expecting to be viewing the world from a high bridge.
ReplyDeleteAnd today you discovered and I was reminded, that you can only enter the bridge coming from the North, so we didn't actually miss it, we went underneath it. Anyway, it was a great trip!
