Suddenly, they needed me in Barnes today as well. Getting there took ages. The road paralel to the river towards Kew Bridge was completely blocked.
Like a good few other drivers, my friend decided to make a u-turn and go
towards St Margaret's, via the old Richmond Bridge, and then Richmond,
East Sheen and Mortlake where the train made us wait again.
It was a little puzzling to see the firemen enter The ITSU restaurant in the heart of Richmond. There were no apparent signs of any fire and it was a bit too early for lunch...
Waiting for the train to cross our 'path' I had plenty of time to open the window, zoom in and take a snap of this Mortlake car showroom. Well, dearly beloved, I know it is not the same as going to a car show in Chicago. After all, I've been to it once!;-)
The weather didn't improve during the day. Actually, it soon began to rain and was raining more or less heavily all through the afternoon and early evening. I'm too comfortable now to check if it's raining now, half an hour before midnight. Sorry!
Going back from Barnes via Putney Bridge did not turn out a better option. The traffic was pretty solid at times and we abandoned the plan to see a film about Cartusian monks in Holland Park.
