South Acton visited

Please see a few more pictures from the southern 'end' of Acton:
I do not know about these particular tiles above the door, but there are lots of Victorian tiles with nice ornaments in this part of London.

This shop window has already featured in my blog, but I photographed the mugs as they match my Tshirt:

(I must make sure Carrie Reichardt, the mug creator, sees this post!:-)

Chiswick Auctions:
I registered two details of the Chiswick Auctions entrance for you, Dear Reader: the stained glass above the door:
and the door handles:
Dear Learner of English, I'm sure you can think of different types of handles. Have you heard of 'love handles' though?

Next auction:
This could be in Poland...

Stik's Big Mother from Acto Estate is facing the new posh development arriving at her doorstep:
This picture makes me think of Wtorpol Recycling Plant in Skarzysko, another place where I used to teach English to staff and interpret when foreign partners visited. Straight after teaching at school I would go there and have a session with the ladies who worked at the office.
Another picture showing the Big Mother in the distance.

This visit to South Acton started at St Peter's Acton Green where I met Father Fabrizio who took over the parish only last autumn and has already achieved a lot. I learnt that the previous priest was in poor health for twenty years or so and could only do what his health allowed him. There are toddler and storytelling groups, occasional concerts and fairs as well as trips and much more coming up! It was great to meet such an enthusiastic and competent person and be treated to proper Italian coffee, if I may reveal that.;-)

As I was heading home, I came across another church I knew nothing of: All Saints near South Acton Station.
....
That day I didn't notice the famous bench as it was getting dark. You can read about it here, though.
