December the 9th is always a special day for me: my mother's 'nameday'. In Poland namedays have been more important than birthdays, but I suppose it's changing. Anyway, I couldn't spend the day with my mother, but I sent her wishes and pictures including an unusual one, of me with Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Dr Patricia Walker who had invited me to a charity Christmas dinner that evening. Yes, I did ask Dr Walker to pose with me especially for my mum and explained to her the reason for it. She kindly agreed and asked me to pass on her best wishes! I did so! The picture travelled fast, as they do these days, and in the morning I woke up to a thank you note from overseas to both of us. My mother added that our Madam Mayor looks a very kind and friendly person. Indeed, that's a fact which nobody could deny, and it's not just the looks.:
