Niepołomice - a royal town!

The sunny Sunday was ideal for a trip. We went to visit relations in Niepołomice [ɲɛpɔwɔˈmʲit͡sɛ], a small town outside Kraków. The journey was straightforward, the roads were well maintained and clear and I and my newly repaired leg managed to fit on the front seat.
Omnipresent McQuack bidded farewell to us on behalf of the previous capital of Poland:

So did a billboard of the well established Krakow chocolate factory bearing the name of 'Wawel' - Krakow Royal Castle:
Here is a link for a cute commercial for the three different tastes shown above:

However, I also came across this one, less appetising:

We drove past Wieliczka, for centuries renowned for its salt mines:

Here we are entering Niepolomice:

We drove past the amazingly restored 14th century Gothic hunting castle built by King Casimir III:

As it was Sunday, the church was full of people attending the afternoon mass:

Grunewald Mount - commemorating the greatest Polish victory: the battle of Grunewald fought in 1410; built in the years 1910-1915 to commemorate the event:

What a transformation Niepolomice has gone through since that summer in the late 1970s when I came here to spend a holiday with my relations! I remember it being so grey. Things have changed dramatically since then, and you can see that the inhabitants have made the right choices in the local elections! Congratulations and keep up the good work, Niepolomice!!
