At Ksiazece school!

I was too tired to write anything last night, but I would like you to know about a new restaurant serving dishes from Lvov in ... Radom, opposite the coach station!
...
Today, together with my English colleague, we visited a small school in Skarzysko Ksiazece.
Since now Skarzysko Ksiazece is a district of Skarzysko Kamienna, it holds the title of the oldest school in town. Serious preparations are in place to the 120th anniversary celebrations in 2015. Until a few years ago, the title belonged to Adam Mickiewicz School where I used to teach English before coming to live in London. Mickiewicz School will be 'only' a hundred next year! No doubt there will be festivities to mark the occasion!
Anthony Smith visiting a school

It was a very enjoyable visit. Later we went to Oronsko to explore The Centre of Polish Sculpture. More when I find a moment. I'd really love to tell you more about the day.
...

Here are a few pictures from our visit to the school in Ksiazece!

The meetings were held at an IT classroom. Each took 45 minutes - the usual duration of a lesson at a Polish state school. Although initially shy to ask questions, the students seemed genuinely interested in meeting us. They took to Anthony who as usual was very relaxed and friendly. He impressed everyone by trying to say a few sentences in Polish. It gave me an opportunity to draw the students attention to the differences between Polish and English sounds, and to show them a few 'shortcuts' to learning English.
Karina, the English teacher is introducing Anthony to the students
To our immense surprise, after the meetings with students we were invited to a school lunch served by the Headmaster. Karina walked with us to the school canteen. There are two twenty-minute lunch breaks at the school. We enjoyed the earlier one along with the younger schoolchildren.

A small school where the number of students per class doesn't exceed twenty and often is less then fifteen is a teacher's dream, believe me!

Never eat alone, a wise man wrote a book about it!
Main course: delicious!
Afterwards we were invited to attend an unusual history lesson for all the students. What a fun way to learn!
