Everybody probably has heard of Windsor Castle and The Great Park there. The park has a long and rich history which is neatly presented here. Being in the area, I went for a walk towards... Cow Pond enjoying a pleasant October afternoon. Apparently, there used to be cows by the pond in the distant past...
Savill Gardens Visitor Centre is quite an impressive structure.
Those who know Krakow may think of Manga, the Japanese Centre across the Vistula River from Wawel, The Royal Castle. It looks as if some giant stepped on The Manga buliding and stopped at the last moment...;-)
What that is? Well... difficult to say, but there are two theories:
1. The Little Green Men's huts!
2. The Giant Green Men's hats!
And what do you, Dear Reader, think?
Shrooms under rhododendrons, I wouldn't eat them...
Shrooms growing from the tree trunk...
How many shrooms can you see?
Ferns and trees behind the wall of rhododendrons (What a difficult word it is to spell!)
A lot to look at!
Isn't nature a great artist?
More shrooms...
Cow Pond and a horse in the distance!
Orange birch bolete
Puffballs?
If it rains, you can find shelter in a wooden gazebo by the lake. Should you get tired of looking at the rain and the lake, why don't you admire the view above your head?
It is important to notice who opened the gazebo and when:
Fortunately, it remind dry during our visit and I could preserve more of the pretty sights:
The ceiling at the Visitor Centre looks a bit like the one at Kings Cross Station in London.
It was great to get away from London for a few hours. Luckily, the traffic was good which is not often the case in this country...
