The day turned out rather nice. We even found some time for a bit of a walk at Syon Park, as we were nearby. Syon House and Park is one of many beautiful spots by the Thames. The Butterfly House is long gone, but there are still many attractions. :-)
Syon House, well worth a visit if exploring stately homes is your theme.
Garden shop:
The Conservatory was hired for a public function that evening and the illuminated dome looked very pretty.
After the walk we were quite ready to try another of countless feeding stations in our neighbourhood. Italian was the theme of the evening. When we stopped the car (after a lot of cruising to find a parking place) in a side street, I saw some students still busy at the university:
The Walpole is a place we haven't visited yet, but it must be good.
Santa Maria was packed with pizza eaters. Not without reason one should think.
We found a table at Casa Roberta opposite, but the place was soon full. It was most enjoyable. Fresh homemade Italian food cooked according to family recipes. Just look at the mouth watering dessert:
The service-kind and efficient. The owner, an Italian lady of a name Roberta, was sitting at a small table in the corner, always friendly. She approached the guests, many of them frequent customers. We also had a chat with her and learnt that she and her brother took over the venue a year ago or so. We could tell it is a big success.
