Irena Sendler remembered

Thursday has an interesting outlook: a book launch and a film screening at The Embassy of Poland, by invitation only!
...
I am so glad I could attend the event. No time to write more, unfortunately.
Just downloaded the pictures from last night.

Earlier that day we set off for a walk to the nearby 'organised wilderness' at Fox Hill. However, the moment we got off the car, we got caught in the rain, Serious one. Emergency plan to walk along Fox Lane, under the canopy of trees didn't work. We had to go back into the car or get soaked. We drove to Haven Lane. Of course, with parking restrictions there was nothing else to do, but take the car back home, not far at all, fortunately. Could you believe it? The rain stopped as quickly as it started. But by then it was lunchtime and we headed for pub lunch at the nearby Haven Arms. It will be remembered not only for nice food, but also because of a really friendly and chatty guy behind the bar, a bit of history on the walls and a fantastic dalmatian who joined me at the table as soon as my friend vacated the bench for a few minutes. Oh, and there was a proper fireplace with logs burning.

After the feast we took a stroll up Haven Lane. The pub up the road had an inviting sign:
