Between Końskie and Żarnów

Today I am adding pictures showing the next leg of my coach journey between Skarżysko-Kamienna and Łódź: from Końskie to Żarnów.

Leaving Końskie you soon go past a moated castle in Modliszewice:

The village of Żarnów, although quite historic, always gives me this sleepy feeling...  It used to be a town for a time.

Żarnów church of St Nicholas dates to the Medieval times and has soem original Romanesque and Gothic details.  The 19th century bell tower was robbed of the bells, renowned for their sound. The oldest bell was made in 1533.  Where did the Nazi Germans take them? Where do the bells sound now?

From this mount, on the 16th of September, the Polish king Jan Kazimierz observed a major battle against the Swedish army during their invasion of Poland in 1655 (The Deluge)

The battle between the Poles and attacking Swedes was fought on these fields...

No more battles, please... Why can't people coexist in peace and harmony?
