The purpose of this blog is to share in English some of my experiences in life and to hear about yours. I learnt English as a child and I’ve been teaching it to others so they can live better lives in the English-speaking world. Please contact me if you need help learning or improving your English and/or would like to visit places on and off the beaten track.

Diversity
Yesterday I mentioned to a girl at the gym that my cousin is complaining about the heat in San Diego, California just now. Unusually for the time of the year, he says, the temperature reaches 30 degrees Celsius there. My relations in Chicago are spared freezing solid as they have to 'de-snow' their houses, garages and pavements. The girl turned out to be a believer and immediately started praising God who creates such a diversity. Yes, if one looked at the two of us, they could only agree with this statement. They would see two women, but of different hues, shapes, hair and you name it. We are all the same, all people, but each of us is different and unique in our own kind. And owing to the shared language, English, we can communicate! Isn't it wonderful?
