September... For many years in Poland it was the time of going back to school, as a pupil and then as a teacher. During the first week of school, everybody was getting used to the school routine and still full of holiday memories. Summer holidays in Poland were very long. They started around the 20th of June and you didn't go back to school till the first day of September. Well, teachers started and finished a few days earlier, of course and sometimes had some work to do at school during the summer. My life in the UK does not follow this pattern.
