Tree surgeon and you name it

Another busy day has nearly gone by. It was nice to see friends and to learn about another Polish RAF pilot: Stanisław Płachciński. His relation told me his name when we chatted in Richmond this afternoon.

A source of good coffee and nice, friendly service today:

The item of the day:

A Christmas tree with a difference:

How could I fail to ask the origin of this piece?! Surely I did ask, as soon as it emerged from the box. The woman who brought it told me in a strong and determined voice that she had no idea whatsoever as to where it came from. The only thing she knew that it came with her husband, he had got it somewhere before they met, and now they were getting rid of it. Then, when it was put out for sale, one of the frequent customers turned up and got truly interested in the item. Her interest grew when I suggested that it can make a good gift for a specialist doctor, serving as a paperweight with a difference. All I know is that she asked the manageress to put it aside for her till the next morning!

Panda left the shop with the lady of Polish descent who has lived on the British Isles for over three decades:

This was unquestionably the most unusual ring of the day:

A naughty T:

Good night!
