Of people who have something to say

A friend has invited me to Pram Rawat talk this Sunday. I don't think I've heard him speak before, but he sounds interesting.

...
My day will be remembered as a pleasant one despite feeling a bit low in the morning.  It's good to have friends...

A friend repaired my bike in exchange for some help with the garden which I very much enjoyed. Actually, he showed me how to fix a puncture hoping that this would be enough for me to do it myself next time. At his place near The Thames in Chiswick I met a girl drummer who was getting one of the drums he makes of some big African vegetables. I felt like a cobra snake listening to them play various kinds of drums!

There is something about the drum beat that appeals to me, you know. It made me think of Agnieszka's workshop in Crete a month ago. We danced every day, sometimes to the rhythm of the drum she had made herself at a special (maybe shamanic) workshop somewhere exotic. When I arrived in Crete, my walking was still rather limited and I was worried that my legs would not be able to dance much if at all. However, owing to Agnieszka's techniques, they were getting better and better. I still had to give them a break from time to time, but they were improving with every workshop. After a week I built up the strength to go up and down the hills and cliffs and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

I keep promising myself to go to one of Lu's workshops he runs in one of the Kew Bridge arches on Thursday evenings. I must do that. Now I would also like to attend a session run by Regina. Maybe one day we will all meet on Duke Meadows by the river for an evening of spontaneous music and joy...

....
An attention seeking cat:

Dukes Meadow has some grass left uncut this summer. Look at all the wild flowers in the grass!

The tide was in and the water was flowing upstream!

These metal bars often get vandalised. Lu has picked them from the river on a few occasions when the tide was out... (Dashing to make a correction: They do not get vandalised by people, Lu told me. It's the aging process and lack of care that does it. Sorry.)

These reflections on the water caught my eye...

Here are a few pictures from the nearby allotments.  I trust my friend Ania will appreciate these snaps:

There are some unknown to me white flowers in the flower bed below. I saw them having an al fresco lunch at The Fat Boys.  Thai chicken with cashew nuts is my favourite there.

Going back to the allotments we encountered this friendly dog. I was a bit shy to come close, but my brave friend kept no distance and got his feet licked once or twice. A little chat sprang. To my amazement I learnt about the canine's evening habit. When the lady of the house sits comfortably in her armchair, legs stretched on a little stool, the dog approaches her feet, pulls off her sock and starts licking her foot. He never does it to his master, unfortunately, I gathered. Maybe the way he walks the dog has something to do with it... ;-)

Soon we were back to Lu's little patch. It has gone a real transformation within recent months. When he was allocated the plot, it looked like true wilderness. Nobody had cultivated it for years and years.

On the way back I took a few snaps of various things that caught my eye:

Being a kind man, my friend escorted me on his bike along the river toward Chiswick High Street. When we emerged from the subway underneath the motorway we saw this unusual bike that came from Denmark:

From here I carried on biking to see my friend in Acton Vale and Lu biked back to enjoy a bowl of organic soup from As Nature Intended.

This cat I have known since she was a little playful kitten:

With the scenes from Acton as seen from my bike I am wishing good night to you, Dear Reader!
