Off to The Forester, Ealing for a beer festival!

A local band member told me about a beer festival at The Forester, Northfields in Ealing and we are heading there to see the band live, explore the place and enjoy the day!

....

The band in question is called Westbound Piccadilly and I learnt about them and the event at The Forester off Northfields Avenue in Ealing at a Brompton Road shop a week or so ago.

We arranged to meet there with friends and had a really good time. They regretted having stuffed themselves with pizza earlier on as there was excellent food served there along with a wide range of beers and ciders.
When they were downing their pints, we were indulging in a late and well deserved lunch. The plate contained: roast hog shavings, homemade apple sauce, fried onions, various salads and stuffing, all homemade and delicious.

The guy who served food was very cheerful and friendly, same about the lads who filled glasses with the golden drinks!

There were a few stalls where people sold various items they made themselves.

One lady sold candles and candle holders. When I approached she had already packed most of the remaining stuff, getting ready to go home.

Next to hers, there was a stall with jewellery, some of it silver and with gem stones. I quite liked the two pendants:
You can find out more about the nice pieces if you go to the Mythical Jewellery website!

I walked on among the rows of tables and people enjoying the weekend.

Almost facing the stage was a stall with really pretty English countryside views on postcards. They were taken by Mr Brian Scott from Ealing during his ride around Britain on a scooter!

During a nice chat we immediately discovered our shared passion for picture taking and interest in history. One of the views that drew my attention was of a church topped with a spire. (You can click here to learn more about a no-more existent job related to a curiosity to be found at this church) Mr Scott told me that he photographed it in a village of Baslow, Derbyshire. It was one of the villages affected by the great plague of London which allegedly was brought to the area by a merchant who carried a parcel of cloth from London in 1665.  Eyam was a village most affected by the plague. It chose to isolate itself so as not to spread the disease.

While my friends were enjoying another round of beer, I visited two more stalls.
At the first one I spoke to a lady who makes all sorts of cute little things. She decorates stones and makes cards for different occasions. You can see a lot of cats in her works!

You can meet her and other local artists, at a Craft Show that will take place at The Royal Victoria, Boston Road in Hanwell on Saturday, 19 October 2013

At the last stall I talked to Katie. She is one of the three friends, all young mothers, 'who love to sew and make beautifully crafted bags, bunting, cards, cushions, gifts, homewares and pictures', as I could read on their card. They called themselves: sewcheeky and you can find them on Facebook!

It was nice to see many people enjoy the relaxing day.

I liked the stained glass window details at The Forester:

The cat outside was a big hit with me:

How could I fail to notice the sky? I couldn't!

Something is being done to the Old Cinema in Ealing Broadway. Not much of it is left at the moment:
