Last but one day of Christmas

Well, third day in a row with a headache for a start. But now it's gone and I'd better catch up with the day.

On the phone with a friend I missed a photo opportunity. The scene was as follows: blue sky, a fat ginger cat sitting on the garden wall and two little birds feasting keenly on the red berries of the holly tree by the wall, plus three pigeons: one on top of an aerial, the other on top of the church tower and the third one on top of the church building

Tomorrow the Christmas time will come to an end. The official Christmas tree in Ealing has probably been put away It was an unusual one, made of a huge amount of green bottles to raise awareness of the need to recycle waste. It wasn't cheap to build this tree, I found out. Hence, many local people were not happy about this investment of public money. The authorities tried to justify the idea by explaining that it was an important part of the long term recycling project. The tree was appreciated across the pond. In America it was voted the 12th world's best public Christmas tree of the year, as one of the Ealing online papers reported.
