A drive across Kent

A very busy day!

The above pictures were taken somewhere on the way from Royal Tunbridge Wells. We stopped at the Cross Keys pub and were served quite decent coffee by the owner of the place. Here is a task for those with some time at hand: Why not try and find out why many pubs bear such a name? What does  'The Cross Keys'  mean? The man hasn't yet managed to find out. If you do, please let me know. :-)

Now a  (wide, as usual) selection of the day in Kent snaps will follow. I'll begin with Folkestone, as this is where our return journey started:

We stopped for lunch at a cosy country pub in Appledore:



After our late lunch we took a stroll around the pretty village of Appledore and visited a historic church with the local produce and... church mice for sale!























A sort of 'curiosity shop' in Appledore. There was no time for a browse.
