Ingreed Bergman ashes, Sheen treasure, Rumi wisdom and more...

A cold day it has been, one of many...

Cupcakes in Richmond:

Today in Sheen a woman bought a special candle from a village on the western coast of Sweden. Surely, she didn't expect such a lucky find.
She has been to Fjällbacka in Bohuslän, and thinks it's the most scenic part of this Scandinavian country. The famous actress Ingrid Bergman liked the place so much that she would go there on holiday and  asked to have her ashes scattered around there, I was told.
....
Three vases arrived at the Sheen shop today, following the panda screen all the way from the city of this bear in China:

The vases emerged from the box one more impressive than the previous one:

They were followed by several other rare and interesting items including this souvenir tray commemorating the coronation of Elizabeth I!

This very old book translated from Arabic and beautifully illustrated was nothing new to my knowledgeable and talented friend from Iraq.

He immediately found me a YouTube version, sang by a great Arab female artist and translated the words into English as we were listening. This later prompted me to seek some Rumi quotes. How about this one:

 “Forget safety.
Live where you fear to live.
Destroy your reputation.
Be notorious.”
― Rumi

???

There are many more Rumi's poems and thoughts that I like. Which one is or has just become your favourite?

...
This piece of fabric is very Christmassy and depicts unusual scenes to be found on a scarf, I'd say. Amusing to look at?

It's getting late and I would still like to mention meeting an elegant man from a Mediterranean island who produces uniforms for the British army and is very happy with his life. :-) Will people ever manage to create a peace-loving society with no need for armies and weapons? According to the recent comment on this blog, we are heading in the right direction. However, the road ahead is rather long...

Good night!
